Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.

John 16:24 NIV

What would happen if we started praying dangerous prayers? This month we are looking at what it means to pray "Dangerous Prayers" meaning prayers that take into consideration God's unlimited power and His purposes in human history and surrender our lives to those purposes. These prayers are dangerous because they are risky, and God answering those prayers might cost us something but may also catapult us into the greatest adventure of our faith.

The first step in praying dangerous prayers is a commitment to well... prayer. All through the Scriptures you will see how crucial prayer was for the people of God, not only as a transactional thing, or a passing short prayer every once in a while, but a consistent and recurrent commitment and pursuit of God. As a church, we want to be committed to that kind of prayer. So all through the series, we are inviting everyone at The Journey to take the February Prayer Challenge, and commit to praying intentionally every single day.

That might sound daunting, particularly in a culture were we are always so busy and have all sorts of things clamoring for our time and attention. But you are not alone, we want to help you in this journey. So we have created a number of ways to come alongside you during the prayer challenge.

Sign Up for Daily Reminders

Every day we'll send you a text at 7 am with a Bible verse and a prompt to remind you to pray.

Join our prayer group

We have created a specific group in CCB where we can interact with one another and encourage each other during the challenge. You can post prayer requests, or share how God has been working in your life during the series.

Follow us on social media

We are also going to be posting content about prayer on our social media channels, so make sure you are following us on Facebook and Instagram.

Join us for prayer on Thursday evenings via Zoom

Every Thursday evening during the prayer campaign we'll get together to pray on Zoom from 8-8:30. Pop in for a few minutes, share your prayer requests, and seek God with us. Click here to join the meeting, and use passcode 874430.

Spotify Playlist

One of the challenges for our prayer time is being able to focus on God in the midst of all the worries and distractions of life. We've put together a playlist of worship songs to help you turn your attention toward God during prayer. Give it a listen, and we hope you continue seeking God and praying dangerous prayers!

Prayer and Worship Night

We will close out the challenge by getting together to worship, pray and seek God as a church on Friday March 3, from 7 to 8 pm. We will have live worship and childcare will be available.

We believe this month has the potential to be very special in the life of our church as we seek God intentionally. We want to be the kind of church that is brave and bold enough to pray the dangerous prayers God wants us to pray. Join us in this challenge and let's see what God does in us and through us.
