Volunteer

ARE YOU READY TO “ROLL UP YOUR SLEEVES”?

One of our core values is called “Roll Up Your Sleeves.” This means that we move beyond good intentions to actively engage in the work that needs to be done in the church and in our neighborhoods. We are called not just to be spectators, but to be the hands and feet of Jesus in our daily lives. If you’re ready to “roll up your sleeves” and volunteer, we’d love to have you join us! Check out the opportunities on this page, and submit the form below once you’re ready.

EVERYONE CAN SAY YES TO SOMETHING!

Not sure where to begin? Feel free to choose the “Still Deciding” option at the link above, and our Next Steps Director will be in touch to learn more about your interests and help share more about opportunities. Or feel free to swing by our Next Steps area in the lobby any Sunday and speak to one of our volunteers about serving opportunities. We’d be happy to chat with you!

LEARN ABOUT OUR SERVING TEAMS

What We Do

Our team is responsible for getting the lobby and patio ready for Sunday morning volunteer teams and guests. For example, we set up the “New Here?” area on the patio, ensure all signage and parking cones are in place, and set out communion.

Time Involved

Serve 8-8:40am on one to two Sundays a month.

What We Do

We are people with big smiles and even bigger hearts who welcome Sunday morning guests and help set the tone for an amazing worship experience here at Journey.  We serve under the guest tent outdoors, welcoming newcomers, answering any questions they might have, and guiding families with kids down to our Journey Kids area.

Time Involved

Arrive 30 minutes before service and remain in position 10 minutes into service. Return to your position 5 minutes before the end of service and remain in position for 10-15 minutes, until nearly all attendees have left.

What We Do

Simply put, we make sure the auditorium is welcoming and ready, and that each person has what they need for the service. We assist in helping guests find a seat, providing communion, and more.

Time Involved

Arrive 30 minutes before service starts, and be present in the auditorium throughout the service to assist as needed. After service, this team makes sure the space is cleaned up and ready for the next event.

What We Do

Our team makes everybody’s day better by making sure there is plenty of delicious coffee hot and ready before and after our services. On top of providing for all of the beverages and supplies at the coffee bar in the lobby, we try to help people feel welcomed and at home here at The Journey.

Time Involved

If you are serving during the 1st service, arrive 45 minutes before service to start the coffee and set out supplies. Teams for the 2nd service need to arrive 30 minutes before the service.

What We Do

We are the first faces guests see as they arrive at The Journey. We help cars navigate to open spaces, ensure the parking lot is safe for attendees, and help anyone who needs assistance to/from their cars.

Time Involved

Be in position 30 min before service through the first 10 minutes of service as cars arrive at The Journey, and then be back out in position 15 minutes after service.

What We Do

Our team serves as a resource for any and all questions guests may have about next steps at The Journey. Volunteers stand at the Next Steps area in the lobby and  information on classes, groups, serving opportunities, special events, and much more.

Time Involved

Be in position 30 min before service and remain in position throughout the service.

What We Do
