Are you ready to join the team?

Serving at The Journey means you’re not just filling a position or meeting a need, but you’re saying YES to what God has in store for you. No matter where you serve, you’re part of a team that is helping to create meaningful worship experiences and opportunities for people to discover and fully follow Jesus.

Everyone can say YES to something!

No matter what you like to do or how you’re gifted, there’s something for you to do. Being part of a church family means that no one gets left out – everyone has something to do. So if you’re not sure where to begin, we’ve got two suggestions:

  1. Pick something. Check out the list below, find something that interests you and go for it. We don’t expect a lifetime commitment to any one thing, and we’re happy to give you opportunities to try new experiences. So pick something and give it a shot.
  2. Connect with a member of our staff team. We’d be happy to chat with you. Simply click here to get started.

JOURNEY TEENS

What we do:

Our team strives to come alongside 7th -12th grade students from across our community in everyday life to help them take steps in their faith. We help provide community and leadership at our weekly Sunday Night Refuel Events as well as work to build meaningful relationships with students. We offer Middle School Classes on Sunday mornings during our first service.

What to Expect/Time Involved:

Serving on Sunday mornings involves teaching topics and leading group discussions. We ask morning teammates to serve once a month, with arrival time 20 minutes prior to the service. Sunday Refuel from 6p-8p is the best place to dive in with Journey Teens. Our Refuel leaders show up every week, 30 minutes before the event, to engage with our teens. As you begin to lead students and build relationships, the occasional text, social media comment/like or attendance at student’s extracurricular activities goes a long way.

JOURNEY KIDS

What we do:

We work hard to provide safe and engaging environments for kids to take next steps toward Jesus at Journey! It’s as simple as being God’s loving arms as you hold a baby, singing ‘Jesus Loves Me’ to a toddler, telling a preschooler that God created them, or speaking simple truths from God’s Word to a school-aged child. It all boils down to showing Jesus to our kids through your words and actions. God takes it from there!

What to Expect/Time Involved:

We ask for all volunteers to arrive at least 20 minutes prior to the service time to be ready to greet our families as they arrive. With all our age groups, consistency is key with our volunteers. We ask for all to serve twice a month (1st & 3rd or 2nd & 4th Sundays).

WORSHIP TEAM (STAGE & TECH)

What We Do:

At Journey Church our mission is to help people take their next step toward Jesus. The Worship Team comes alongside this vision by realizing that because we are created in the image of God, the most creative force in the universe, we are endowed with the creativity of our Creator. This creativity is specifically used through music, sound, and visuals to point people towards Jesus every weekend in our Sunday Services. We are people who love to use media and technology to enhance our worship experience at Journey!

What To Expect/Time Involved:

When it comes to time involved being a part of the Worship Team, we believe we are called to strive for excellence. With this being said, we are constantly striving to better our craft to ultimately glorify God to the best of our ability.

As a part of our team the expectation is for you to come prepared to our weeknight rehearsal [typically Thursdays 7.00p-8.00p] in order to ready ourselves for our Sunday morning services. In addition, to our weeknight rehearsal we have a full production run-through every Sunday morning at 7a, which all scheduled volunteers are required to attend.
